Middle East Environment Landscape

The Middle East is investing in environmental technologies to address the problem of pollution. Saudi Arabia has pledged to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2060. This is a significant commitment, as Saudi Arabia is the world’s largest oil exporter. To achieve net zero, Saudi Arabia will need to make a major transition to renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The Saudi government has already taken some steps to achieve net zero. In 2021, it announced plans to invest $100 billion in renewable energy by 2030. It has also launched a number of initiatives to promote energy efficiency, such as the Saudi Green Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative

Global Sustainable Environmental Technology Week 2024 (GSET 2024) will play an important role in raising awareness of these issues, promoting the adoption of effective solutions, and building partnerships to address them. GSET 2024 is an annual event that brings together experts from the fields of pollution control, environmental protection, and sustainability to discuss the latest trends and technologies in these areas. The event also provides a platform for networking and collaboration between stakeholders
